BoatPlay combines what is in your pack, the power your hull needs at a given speed, wind and sea state, tide and current, and the real route back rather than a straight line. It reads like advice: reach the ramp with 20% in reserve at 6 knots, or 8% at 12. It recalculates continuously as the day changes around you.
Turn-back alert
A warning at the last moment you can still turn around.
There is a point on every trip beyond which the boat cannot return on the charge remaining. BoatPlay knows where that point is and tells you — once, clearly, impossible to miss. It is deliberately not chatty, because an alert that fires constantly is one people learn to ignore.
Battery health, cell by cell
Charge and condition, measured properly.
Lithium iron phosphate cells sit at almost the same voltage from 10% to 90% full — which is exactly why simple battery gauges on electric boats are so unreliable. BoatPlay counts current in and out and corrects against voltage, and tracks condition across charge cycles, so a weakening cell shows itself long before it strands anyone.

Forecast data pulled over satellite, free and worldwide.
Wind, sea state, tide and current feed straight into the range calculation instead of sitting on an information page — a foul current can eat a serious share of your cruising speed. Cached on board, so a dropout costs you nothing.

Bright sun, wet hands, one hand on the wheel. Every design decision starts there.
Chart and navigation
Full electronic charts, live position, routes and waypoints.
Build a route by touch and follow it with cross-track error and arrival time. Reach a waypoint and the boat advances to the next one on its own. Charts pan and zoom smoothly instead of stuttering.
Collision warning
Traffic on your chart, with a warning before it becomes a decision made in a hurry.
Other vessels appear with course and speed vectors — tap any one for its detail. BoatPlay continuously works out the closest point of approach and how long until it, and speaks up early.
The energy page
The screen that makes an electric boat feel trustworthy.
Charge, per-cell health, power flowing in and out, solar yield, and your range ring drawn directly on the chart — all at a glance, no scrolling. Cell-level detail is one tap away rather than cluttering the view.

Alarms follow you
An active alarm shows on every page, not just the one you left open.

Three colour schemes and touch targets sized for wet or gloved hands — reviewed on a real tablet, held outdoors, in real sun. Glare, spray and motion are constraints no desk-based design ever meets.
Works with no signal
Switch off the network and nothing on this screen stops working.
The cloud makes BoatPlay better. It is never required for BoatPlay to work — the opposite of how most connected products are built, and the only sane choice for something that goes out of range.

On an electric boat this is the most valuable camera aboard. Heat, water where it should not be, a swollen cell — all things you can see before any sensor threshold trips. It is also the one place nobody looks while underway.

The stern stays on screen while you manoeuvre.
Available as a corner view over any page, including the chart, so you never trade away situational awareness to see your transom. One camera or four at once; tap any feed to fill the screen.

Music ducks for alarms
The most important thing about audio on a boat.
When an alarm sounds, the music drops automatically. An alarm nobody hears is not an alarm — and a good sound system is remarkably effective at making sure nobody hears one. Most marine stereos have no idea the rest of the boat exists.

On a petrol boat nobody counts the stereo. On an electric boat, an amplifier driven hard all afternoon is range. BoatPlay shows it honestly — and the amplifier is a switched circuit like any other, so it powers down at the end of the day instead of quietly draining the pack.

Guests connect the way they would at a hotel. Access is credentialled, and you can revoke it without touching a single boat system.

A visitor's phone can browse the web and reach nothing else — not the propulsion bus, not the switching, not the boat's own systems. That is the difference between offering internet and opening a door into your boat, and we engineer it as a requirement rather than assume it.

Satellite data is neither free nor unlimited. BoatPlay also tells "no internet" apart from "the dish is obstructed" — a genuinely useful difference when you are deciding whether to move the boat or stop worrying.

Sandboxed away from every boat control interface, and an active alarm always draws above it. Nothing you do in a browser can hide something the boat needs to tell you.

Every circuit, one page
Lights, pumps, refrigeration, accessories — with clear on/off state.
Critical circuits ask for a confirming tap, so nobody kills the navigation lights brushing past the screen. Draw is shown per circuit, which turns "something is flattening the battery" into a named culprit.
Protection lives in hardware
Over-current trips in the node itself, not in software.
Each channel measures its own current and cuts within a specified time. That protection does not depend on the screen, the computer or the network being alive.
Fails to a known state
A node that loses communication does something defined, never something arbitrary.
Every circuit type has a documented failsafe position, agreed with the electrical engineer before a line of firmware was written against it.
Updates without dismantling
Firmware updates remotely, and a failed update rolls itself back.
Anyone who has updated marine electronics the other way — console apart, laptop balanced on a seat, tide coming in — understands why this matters.

Releases are signed and rolled out in stages: one boat, then some, then all. A boat that fails to start on a new version returns to the previous one without anyone intervening. Your boat is never frozen at the software it shipped with.

Three rules the entire product is built around. They constrain us, deliberately.
Your boat steers even if our computer dies
Steering, propulsion and the main contactor never depend on the computer, the screen or the network. If the computer fails mid-passage, the tablet freezes or the satellite link drops, you still steer and still control propulsion. Every safety-critical function has a proven path that does not pass through software — reviewed and signed off by our naval architect and electrical engineer.
You will never see a plausible wrong number
Sensors drop out. Data buses go silent. Readings corrupt. We deliberately inject every one of those failures on the bench and record what happens — and the standard is absolute: data is either correct or visibly absent. A stale reading that looks live is worse than no reading, because you will act on it.
Man overboard is handled in hardware
Bluetooth crew tags and a propulsion cut-off that acts in hardware, with a hardwired override independent of software. Because an electric drivetrain already carries a main contactor, this protection comes almost free — a petrol boat needs extra equipment for the same result. False triggers are analysed just as carefully, because a cut-off that fires wrongly is a hazard of its own.
